Privacy and visibility
MycleTravels is private by default. Nothing you add is visible to anyone else until you choose to make it so.
The four settings
Every trip, location, and photo has a visibility:
| Setting | Who can see it |
|---|---|
| Private | Only you. |
| Friends | You and people you are friends with on MycleTravels. |
| Public | Anyone with the link, if your profile is public. |
| Use profile default | Whatever you set as your Default content visibility. |
Use profile default is the useful one. Set your default once in Settings, and everything you add follows it. Change the default later and everything set to Use profile default changes with it.
Profile visibility
Your profile visibility is a separate gate in front of all of it:
- Private — nobody can open your profile page, whatever your content says.
- Friends — only your friends can open it.
- Public — anyone with the link can open it.
Both gates have to be open for a stranger to see something. A public photo on a private profile is not visible to anyone but you.

Changing visibility in bulk
- Photo library → select photos → Change photo visibility, applied to the selected photos or to every photo you own.
- Location card → Update photo visibility, applied to the selected photos or to every photo at that location.
- Share trip → Make shareable, which makes a whole trip public at once. See Sharing.
What is never shown
Your email address is never shown on your public profile. Sign-in is handled by Google, and MycleTravels never sees your Google password.
