Trips
A trip groups visited locations into an ordered journey. Trips give you a route on the map, a playable animation, and a single link you can share.
Creating a trip
On the Map or Edit page, select Add trip:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Title | The name of the trip. |
| Trip type | General, Roadtrip, Flight, Train, Cruise, or Other. This changes how the route is drawn and animated. |
| Origin | First route location uses your first stop. Custom location lets you search for a different starting point — your home town, for instance. |
| Destination | Last route location or a Custom location. |
| Visibility | Use profile default, Private, Friends, or Public. |
| Description | What the trip was. |
Adding locations to a trip
Open the trip to get the trip editor. Two ways in:
- Add existing location — pick any visited location from the dropdown.
- Select locations on the map or in the Locations list and use Move selected locations into the trip.
Route order
The Route order list controls the sequence the trip is drawn and played in. Move stops up and down until the order matches how you actually traveled. Origin and destination sit at the ends of the route unless you set custom ones.
Route order is the trip's own ordering — it does not change the dates on your photos or locations.
Trip settings
The trip editor also exposes:
- Trip type and Visibility, the same options as when you created it.
- Show route on map — draw this trip's route line, or keep the trip while hiding its route.
- Origin and Destination modes.
- Description.
Select Save trip to apply the changes.
Flight leg photos
Flight trips have one extra feature: photos taken between two stops, not at either of them.
In the trip editor, the Flight leg photos section lists each leg of the route. For a leg, select Add from library and choose the in-flight photos. During playback they appear while the map is flying that leg.
A trip needs at least two route points before legs exist.
Playing a trip
Select Play on a trip in the trip list. The map flies the route, stopping at each location to show its photos. See Trip playback for the controls.
A trip needs enough locations to animate before Play appears.
Sharing a trip
Every trip can be shared as its own link. See Sharing.
