Sharing
There are two things you can share: your whole travel profile, and a single trip.
Your public profile
Your profile lives at:
https://travels.mycle.dev/u/your-username
Set a Username in Settings to get a clean address. Until you do, the profile uses a generated identifier.
A visitor to your public profile sees:
- Your avatar, username, bio, and a count of your photos and places.
- Your travel map, starting at the default view you set.
- Your public places, with the public photos attached to each one.
- Your public trips, each one playable.
They see it in the public profile theme you chose, and they can switch between light and dark mode themselves.
Anyone who is not allowed to see your profile gets a Private profile page instead.
Sharing a single trip
Select the share icon on any trip to open the Share trip dialog. It gives you a Trip URL that opens your public profile with that trip playing automatically, and a Copy link button.
The shareability check
Before handing over the link, MycleTravels checks whether a stranger could actually see the whole trip. If anything is still private, the dialog warns:
This trip is not fully public. Someone with this link may not be able to view the complete trip playback.
and lists exactly what is blocking it:
- Your profile is not public.
- This trip route is hidden from the map.
- This trip is not public.
- N route locations are not public.
- N trip photos are not public.
When everything is in order it says instead: This trip is public and ready to share.
Make shareable
Selecting Make shareable fixes all of it in one step. It sets:
- your profile visibility to public,
- the trip to public and visible on the map,
- every route location in the trip to public,
- every photo in the trip to public.
Make shareable changes your profile visibility to public. Your other public content becomes visible to anyone with your profile link, not only to people you gave the trip link to. It only makes this trip's content public — other trips, locations, and photos keep whatever visibility they already had.
If you would rather not make everything public, close the dialog and change the individual items yourself — a trip shared with Friends works the same way for people you are friends with.
